Future Student Updates (COVID-19)

New Students - Orientation and Enrolment

Shortcuts

In line with COVID-19 safety measures, HIC is carrying out the May 2021 orientation and enrolment process fully online.

Instead of enrolling face-to-face, you are asked to complete an online enrolment questionnaire and submit documents, then attend a zoom call with a member of the College Services team.

  • Please complete and submit the online enrolment questionnaire for new students.
  • Please ensure you upload any additional documents through the enrolment questionnaire.
  • You do not have to wait for the week of enrolment to complete the questionnaire.

The enrolment dates are as follows:

  • Enrolment start date for new students – 17th May 2021
  • Classes start date for all students – 24th May 2021

Please note, that once HIC receive your enrolment forms it can take up to 3 to 4 working days for the forms to be processed and to receive a zoom appointment.

As part of orientation HIC will also be carrying out several online inductions and activities. Students will receive an orientation timetable once an enrolment has been confirmed.

HIC will also guide students on how to register with the University of Hertfordshire. Please note that HIC enrolment and UH registration are separate processes and it is vital that both are completed.

Students will enrol with HIC to receive their academic timetable through Axis (HIC Student Portal). Students will also register with the University of Hertfordshire (UH) to receive their UH ID card and access to Studynet (UH Student Portal).

All teaching will be conducted online from the 24th May 2021 until 11th June 2021, then from the 14th of June 2021, we are aiming to run some classes face to face (hybrid approach) – providing Government guidelines allow us to do so.

Students who cannot join us for face to face classes will be able to continue their studies online.

It is recommended for any students joining us from overseas, to ensure that they check the latest UK Self-Isolation requirements. This will enable students to arrive in the UK in sufficient time to self-isolate first before the face to face classes start.

Please be aware that if you are travelling to the UK you will need to do three COVID tests. One 72 hours before you leave your home country and two during your quarantine in the UK on day 2 and day 8. Firstly, you will need to book the COVID test to take in your home country and then pre book the two COVID tests for the quarantine period before you travel to the UK. Please find the list of testing providers.

*Please be aware that the face to face teaching dates could change due to the pandemic.
