Q: I am due to study in September 2022. What is the enrolment process?

A: HIC is carrying out the September 2022 orientation and enrolment process in a hybrid manner.

You will be asked to complete an enrolment questionnaire and then submit documents through our enrolment portal. The online enrolment forms will be live shortly.

We will then invite you to a face-to-face session where we will check your documents and provide you with your academic timetable.

If you have any questions with regards to enrolment, please email college.serviceshic@hic.navitas.com.

Q: What is the difference between HIC enrolment and UH registration?

A: Firstly, you will enrol with HIC to receive your HIC timetable. You will then be required to register with the UH by completing Stages 1 and 2. Stage 1 will be online where you will be asked to complete a series of questions. Stage 2 will be in person where your documents will be verified.

Please be aware that HIC enrolment and UH registration are separate processes, and it is vital that both are completed.

Q: How will I be taught in September?

A: Our approach to learning and teaching for September 2022 intake prioritises interactive, in-person, on campus teaching, such as lectures, seminars, group work and practical activities. All students are expected to be on campus to attend face to face classes from the start.

For any students facing delays due to visa applications, please contact our College Services Team on the following  college.serviceshic@hic.navitas.com , who will be able to advise.

Q: What is the difference between a HIC programme and an Integrated programme?

A: Our HIC programmes include all Foundation, First-Year Business, Pre-Masters and Pre-Sessional English programmes. The Integrated programmes cover all First-Year Pathways other than First Year Business, and are taught by the UH. For all our integrated programmes, students are provided with HIC support tutorials, this therefore means that you will have two timetables – one through the UH (your academic timetable) and one through HIC (your support tutorial timetable). It is important that you attend both.

Q: Will there still be exams this semester?

A: Yes. Your scheduled exams will take place online and/or face to face.

Q: How do I know when my class will be?

A: You will be able to access your timetable through our student portal Axis on axis.navitas.com on the timetable tab. Please note, you will be issued this after you have completed all your enrolment checks.

Q: Will my attendance be monitored?

A: All student attendance is monitored. Lecturers will take registers at the beginning of your classes. You are expected to attend 100% of your scheduled classes. If for any reason you cannot attend, you need to inform HIC and complete an explained absence form alongside supporting evidence.

Q: What do I do if I need any Moodle Support?

A: For any Moodle or technical support please contact the HIC College Services Team.

Q: How is HIC supporting students who suspect they have COVID-19?

A: Students should stay at home and isolate, inform HIC and submit an explained absence form to HIC. Students in accommodation should inform their roommates immediately and call 111.

Q: As a current student in the UK, are Covid-19 diagnoses and treatments covered by the NHS Health Surcharge?

A: All lawful, non-visitor migrants to the UK gain access to the National Health Service and medical treatment free at the point of use. This includes treatment that is medically required in relation to Covid-19.

Q: I am having issues paying for next semester fees, can you help?

A: Please contact the College Services Team so that so we can discuss your options.

Q: Is there accommodation available through HIC for the academic year?

A: Yes there is, please apply here. We have a number of options available.

Q: Who should I contact if I have any accommodation queries?

A: Please contact our Accommodation Team on the following: accommodation@hic.navitas.com.

Q: When will I be able to book accommodation for September 2022 start date?

A: Once you receive your unconditional offer letter you can book your accommodation.

Q: Is there a taxi service that is available from the airport to the university?

A: Yes there is, please see our Airport Taxi Service application form here.
